Kevin Doyle Goes To Wolves

Published by slayed35440 at 2:02 pm under epl Edit This

I’m not exactly a Reading fan, but I always respected the heart and determination that Kevin Doyle left out on the field.  Whether fighting to show himself to be worthy of the Premier League, or fighting to try and keep Reading alive in the dying stages of their last failed Premiership campaign., Doyle proved himself as a worthwhile striker.  And Wolves have seen that, and have saved the Irishman from his exile in the Championship by spending a club record 6.5million for his services.

I have to say, this seems a better strategy to me for a club coming into the Premiership.  Often so many promoted clubs look to up and coming players from leagues in other countries, instead of trying to find tried and tested Prem veterans.  And that’s a huge issue, considering not everyone is cut out for the physicality of the Premier League.  Stars of La Liga, or Serie A, come to England and rot because they can’t adapt to defenders that actually tackle and fight for the ball.  Those types are not what you need when you’re hoping to have more than a one year stay in the Premier League.

Kevin Doyle is the right choice for Wolves.  Tested, and passed with flying colors as the right fighting forward for a team like Wolves.
