Luiz Felipe Scolari has admitted that the defeat to United yesterday was a huge dent to Chelsea’s title run this season. Anyone who watched the match would have to agree, especially with Scolari’s after match comments. Scolari was clearly humbled as he said “I think it has done some very big damage because we didn’t come here to play like this.”

But for the doubters, the sort that are already piling on Chelsea for their title hopes slipping away, Scolari added “But don’t think if we lose one game we are finished. We have 17 games left and we will fight to the last.”

Although, despite Scolari’s confidence, I’ve no doubt that every player in the Chelsea line-up wishes that the man sitting in the stands, one Jose Mourinho, had never been pushed away by Abramovich.

Speaking of news in the title race, Rafa Benitez is losing his battle against Sir Alex Ferguson, considering Fergie’s response to Rafa’s rant was a 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea, and now another strike against the Spaniard comes from Liverpool’s own forward. Fernando Torres has said that United are favourites to take the title this year, “They are the favourites and the champions right now and have shown over the years they are a very powerful team,

“They have two more games to play. If they catch up they will be top.”
