Mike Ashley Must Hate Joe Kinnear

Well Joe Kinnear has got himself into trouble again, with a little help from his big mouth. The FA charged Kinnear after a huge outburst against match official Mike Riley during Newcastle’s 2-2 draw with Stoke. Kinnear responded to a free kick award by Riley to Stoke with an outburst that was unbecoming of a Premiership manager, and was justly punished by being sent into the stands. And apparently the only time Kinnear has a problem with the ref is when the calls go against his club, as the last time Kinnear got into trouble for his comments was in Newcastle’s defeat away to Fulham in November.

Kinnear is just a volatile manager, and not a great choice to lead a Premiership club in my opinion. This is a man with so little respect, or restraint that he swore 52 times at a press conference remember. I’m not saying I have a problem with cursing, but I think there’s a level of respect a manager should show for the game, and part of that is making a press conference something other than a managerial war zone.

Kinnear is a man who cannot control his emotions, and his track record shows that, so Newcastle should neither be surprised, nor should they expect the behaviour to change anytime in the future. Mike Ashley just needs to get used to the fact that the man he’s paying to manage Newcastle, is going to be serving a lot of touch-line bans. Effectively making him pointless in the position, because if you can’t control yourself enough to avoid FA charges, how do you expect to inspire your players?
