Liverpool Interested in Emile Heskey, Again

After Emile Heskey’s recent run of form during England’s two World Cup Qualifiers, who wouldn’t be interested in a rejuvenated Heskey?  Liverpool certainly seem interested once again, if you believe the reports.  Which I do, because I think Rafa Benitez is still searching for a suitable partner for Fernando Torres to form a more successful bond with.  Because let’s face it at this point, Robbie Keane just isn’t working out, and isn’t right for the Liverpool system.

Compare Keane with his former striker partner Berbatov, Manchester United is the team Berbatov was meant to play for, his style is perfectly suited to United’s free form change tactics on the fly form of play.  Keane was never right for Liverpool, especially not in a Liverpool side that has Fernando Torres, but both Benitez and himself tried to force him into that mold, and big surprise, it’s not working out.

Whereas Emile Heskey always would have been a better partner for Torres, because Heskey is remarkable unselfish.  He’s a striker that makes his striker partner better, not matter who he plays beside.  That’s perfect for Liverpool.  Especially considering the fact that Torres is more successful playing as a lone striker, Keane just gets in his way more often than not.  Heskey would be a much better choice, because he’s always looking for the angle to pass for the better scoring opportunity.  Instead of wasting a ball that Torres could use to score, by being Robbie Keane and failing when you take the shot on yourself.
