West Ham may not yet be completely sunk, despite the pending decision over Sheffield United’s £30million compensation claim, which could go as high as £50million.  As West Ham have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which may be more likely to rule in their favor, in terms of how much money if any, Sheffield United would be entitled to.  West Ham need to hope beyond hope now that the CAS will hold a preliminary hearing soon, because let’s face it, £50million could completely sink West Ham at this point, considering the club’s already increasing debt.

But before West Ham can work towards getting any good news, the CAS must rule on whether or not they even have jurisdiction over the matter.  Funny that West Ham should suffer twice, once in the sense that they actually let Carlos Tevez go to a different club, instead of taking full advantage of the brilliant Argentine.  But now, Tevez could cost the club any money they’ve earned from him, and a hell of a lot more.

Also in news of note, is that David Moyes has ended the speculation surrounding his future with Everton by signing a new five year deal.  Although I don’t understand why David Moyes would be Everton’s first choice, sure he’s made Everton a formidable squad, if you don’t mind not really competing with the top four spots on the table.  Everton need a change, and selling Andy Johnson wasn’t the right one.  But maybe paying someone other than Moyes to turn the club, would have been  a large step in the right direction.
