The Ronaldo linked to Real Madrid rumors just won’t die, despite the transfer window having been long closed at this point.  Real Madrid coach Schuster has said that the Spanish giants have every confidence that Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing in Spain next summer.  But they have no delusions about the price it will take to pry the talented Portuguese away from the hands of Sir Alex Ferguson.

David Gill has admitted to entertaining a bid of around £135million for the young mid, but whether the supposed proposal has come in from Real Madrid or rival Manchester City has yet to be known.  As the Abu Dhabi United Group has made it no secret that they would love to move Ronaldo to the other side of Manchester, in hopes of furthering the success of City on their road to breaking into England’s top four.

Real Madrid has said that the earlier figure speculation of around 90million euros for Ronaldo would not be far off the mark for what the club would actually have to pay for Ronaldo.  But I still sincerely doubt that a Sir Alex Ferguson led Manchester United will ever let go a player before Ferguson is damn well ready to be rid of them.  Fergie doesn’t make it a habit to sell United’s best players, with the exception of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, but I just don’t see the Scot giving up a player that he’s invested so much of his own time and effort to craft into the player Ronaldo is now.

Manchester United made Ronaldo, and they love him in Manchester, so why would he ever want to leave a club of such prestige?  But not to worry United, you’re not a one man squad, even if Ronaldo leaves you still have the leadership, diligence, and work rate of one Wayne Rooney to keep you afloat.
