Spanish Clubs Fight For Ronaldo
Ever since Ronaldo announced his interest to play in Spain, Real Madrid have been constantly battling for the Portuguese mid-fielder. Barcelona have now also joined the war to sign Ronaldo, offering their bid to Manchester United. To which Real Madrid responded with a new offer to Ronaldo of 300,000 a week, after taxes, to join the Madrid side. How could Ronaldo really turn that down. He would become the highest paid footballer in the world, even though the move could mean career suicide.
Hopefully Ronaldo isn’t going to make a stupid decision that will hamper the rest of his career, thinking that he’s the greatest ever and can play with any squad.
England’s result in the friendly against Trinidad & Tobago, will be thrown out of the record books, as Capello used 7 substitutions during the contest. As everyone knows you are only allowed five substitutions during a friendly. But again, it is just a friendly so it doesn’t really matter anyway.
Mark Hughes has already been warned at Manchester City, that only a sixth place finish at the least next season, will do. So now, just like Eriksson, Hughes may become the victim of an owner that just doesn’t understand how football works. Now we just have to wait and see, if moving to City was an awful decision for Hughes, and his future in the Premiership.
